DIGITALIS

a.k.a.

Foxglove

Digitalus a.k.a. Fairy Weed, Witches' Bells - Commonly called Foxglove, this beautiful plant has been used for centuries to ward off evil. Rumoured to ring when a nasty imp or other unpleasant Elemental comes lurking into your garden. Fairies and gnomes love this pretty plant but BEWARE, it is poison!

In days gone by the wise women of each home would make a black dye from the leaves and paint equilateral crosses on the floor tiles. it was thought that these magickal symbols would keep evil from entering the home.

It's summer and fairy spotting is at its best, so sneak up on a clump of beautiful Digitalis and perhaps you might spy a little lovely lying out in the sunshine.

Digitalis can be used in magick spells concerning banishing and protection.

Foxglove Spell:

Write something that is bothering you on a piece of paper, such as a name, emotion, bad habit etc... Sprinkle Foxglove petals and/or leaves on a word and visualize this bothersome thing out of your life while saying or whispering:

"Bells of the Witches,

Bells of the Fae,

Keep this bane at bay,

So mote it be!"

Leave this item outdoors to weather away.
